COLD START: The Step-by-step guide to starting your business
COLD START is the entrepreneur’s one stop, step-by-step guide to getting a business off the ground. There are literally thousands of books out there that talk about start-ups and cover things like marketing, product development, and sales, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one that will take you through the EXACT details you need to get your business licensed, incorporated, and legal. Cold Start gives you all those answers and more!
If you’ve got a great idea for a business, but you aren’t sure how to pull off the mechanics of getting it started, then search no more. Tom Withers takes you through the process in precise detail, creating a simple, easy to follow checklist to get you into business.
But Tom doesn’t stop there! He takes you through the first few steps along the path for a new business, such as how to write an effective Operating Agreement with your partners, how to start building business credit, and how to navigate a sale, IPO, or other exit when the time comes. Tom’s love of business shines through on every page of this book. He wrote this because he believes that entrepreneurship and the spirit of human striving and exploration are the greatest things human kind has going for us. He doesn’t want to see talented, brave, and intrepid would-be entrepreneurs stumble and fall just because they forgot to file a form with the IRS!
HUMAN CURE
I started writing this book with my mother as she neared the end of her battle with cancer. She always wanted to write and never got the opportunity to finish her own book. This book is inspired by her and her fingerprints are all over it. Proceeds from sales are donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in the name of Selina Withers.
Ted Ballantyne and Amy Fawcett are brilliant scientists on the cusp of finding a cure for cancer with their cutting-edge nanobot technology. They’re also divorced. Once passionately in love with each other and their work, obsession and betrayal have driven them apart. Now, neither one of them is willing to walk away from the project that they know will change the world.
Looming over Ted and Amy is their employer, the mysterious biotech giant ICBN Technologies. Breakthroughs in AI and robotics have recently created some new faces at the company. Incredibly lifelike bots now roam the halls, working alongside the scientists and blurring the lines between human and machine.
Disastrous experiments, hostile executives and their own belligerent partnership threaten to topple Ted and Amy’s research. But when Amy receives a devastating diagnosis of her own, she and Ted are pushed to find the cure, and possibly each other, before it’s too late.
NIGHT CHOIR
The world has ended, not with a bang or a whimper, but with a song.
Every night when the sun goes down, the Song starts up again. At first, it was faint and localized with only a few people going missing. Before long, entire neighborhoods were walking out into the night, lured by the Song of the Night Choir, never to be seen again. As they joined their voices to the choir, the Song grew louder each night.
For a while, Adam King thought he might be the last man on Earth. That is, until he ran into a mysterious and dangerous group of survivors who bundled him away to a remote ranch in the Idaho mountains. The Ranchers have formed an orderly society, but everything is not as it seems. There is a killer in their midst. Now, Adam must find a way to either survive long enough to escape, or root out the killer and embrace his new life.
All the while, the Song of the Night Choir calls out to him at night, urging him to step out into the darkness.

EMBER AND ASH
This is a series of children’s books that I am writing. I started writing them for my own daughters in order to help them learn how to read. I initially never intended to publish the books, but word got out as people visited our house and the girls showed off their “special princess book” to friends and family. If you have little kids of your own, these books make a great early reader – designed to be easy to read and a lot of fun! My wife Courtney (who has an MEd in Early Child Curriculum) signed off on the reading level, so it should be a good fit for kids ages 5-9.
I am going to be adding to this series all the time. Demand among my daughters is through the roof!
